For the first time, professional tandem pilots were closely involved in the development process of a BIBETA prototype. In cooperation with several professional pilots from companies operating in the mecca of tandem flight, Interlaken, we have defined the best qualities of today’s tandem gliders for take-off, handling and landing as benchmarks. During our extensive testing program, we tested prototypes of BIBETA 6 in daily use with our extended development team, and the fine feedback we received was reworked into the design until we not only met but exceeded the criteria we set for ourselves. At the end, the professionals had only one question in mind: when will we have one?

The BIBETA 6 is therefore a completely new concept, which now comes in two sizes: 38 and 41m2. Untangling the lines is a breeze. You lightly shake the three riser lines and the lines separate: the untangling is done in the blink of an eye. The cap rises symmetrically without overtaking you, and the pilot and the passage are soon in the air. In flight, the BIBETA 6 reacts directly and precisely to the slightest brake input. The measured effort to apply the brakes and its perfect gliding behavior contribute to give you full satisfaction. Sliced diagonals, crossed leading edge beads, heavy gauge lines and reinforced anchor points give this professional tandem glider an especially long life. But despite its robust design, this wing folds into a compact volume and weighs an incredibly low 6.95 kg for the 41 m2.

The BIBETA 6 is mainly equipped with “Magix Pro” aramid lines from Edelrid, the high quality German manufacturer. New technology and a complex finishing process give this top-of-the-line product 20% more strength and 17% more torsion and twist resistance, as well as a longer life than equivalent sheathed lines. Aramid lines are very stable in elongation and easy to untangle thanks to their color code. Their exceptional resistance to water and dust means that they do not require any special care.
